Bloggers Group challenge #2

Create a card with mostly stamping, that can be created start to finish in 15 minutes.

That was the challenge. Since I waited till the last minute to begin working on my swaps for the Non-Convention goers group, that was due in Wisconsin by Friday, I needed a quick card.

This was a combination card from the last card class I did and one that was in the last issue of the Stampin' Success magazine (the monthly magazine sent to all active demos)last month.

Recipe: Upsy Daisy, Elegant Thank You.
Really Rust, More Mustard, Soft Suede, Very Vanilla CS
household bleach, Scallop Circle, Scallop Square punches, Soft Suede polka dot ribbon(backwards), mini silver brads.

Here are some projects that I had for the art fair.

These are the mini mailboxes that are left. My kids love these things!

Bloggers Group SUO Challenge

So, I'm part of an online group of demos from around the country that have joined together to motivate each other keep our blogs up to date.

Being consumed by the art show, I have really fallen behind in the group.

Two challenges were posted. CASE a card from the catalog and create a card that is mostly stamping and can be made in under 15 minutes.

The first challenge will work well for me and take care of two projects. A swap I signed up for that is to CASE a card from the catty. I choose House of Haunts and another card I can't remember. So I'll be able to take care of that challenge this week. The other challenge will be a bit more challenging---ha!

I need to clean up my room a bit so I can find stuff again, then crank out some swaps that are due by the end of this week. It never ends and I do most of it to myself! Honestly, I thrive on it and wouldn't be able to work any other way.

I survived my first outdoor show!

I made it. Yesterday was my first outdoor art show.

Here are some pictures:

Packed up most of the car the night before. Last minute stuff went in in the morning. I finished up several projects Friday night---yep, that's right---another night of late-night stamping.

Grabbed some food and headed out. Vendors were able to start being assigned spots at 7:30. I was in line at 7:50 and I was the 21 vendor in line. That was actually a great number because I was right in the middle, close to the library(the bathroom) and I had a fairly clear sight to the stage that featured dancing and singing acts--including about an hour of bellydancing! Some acts were amazing, while others made you wince. Good times, I tell ya.

The rain put a damper on things, but with the help of my sister, was able to save everything and finish out the day.

I need to work on my set-up a bit more. I need to get more vertical with my dispays, have side walls to protect against the rain, and work a place for my chairs and a small table for my money box and stuff. Thank goodness for my sister. Aside for the invaluable help she provided, it was really nice having someone to talk with and to stay at the booth when I needed a quick break.

1st project crossed off the list!

I have finally been able to cross off a finished project from the list of projects I'd like to have one hand for the Lazy Daze Art Festival next week.

It's not a huge project, but one of those that took much longer than anticipated.

These are cardstock rings that feature every solid color cardstock Stampin' Up! sells. Each sample is labeled with the name of the cardstock and the color family it is in. The samples are on a 2" ring that opens so you can take the colors off and try new combinations.

I worked on parts for the advent calendars. Cut the small squares, some of the larger squares and the strips for the tins. Then I adhered the sticky strip to everything that I cut. This project takes A TON of Sticky Strip.

Before I did all this fun cutting, I steam cleaned the carpets in the sunroom and in the dining room. Fun times, I tell ya!

Might have family in town for Reagan's birthday on Sunday, so I'm trying to clean as much as possible. And get as many projects finished as possible also because there will be no time while they are here. And I have a workshop Saturday night. Yep, lots of late nights for me.
Phew!
